CTEV brace is a key component of clubfoot treatment, helping to maintain correction, prevent relapse, and promote optimal foot development. Compliance with CTEV brace wear recommendations and regular follow-up care are essential for successful outcomes. After the initial correction phase with serial casting, which involves gradually manipulating the foot into a corrected position over several weeks, the CTEV brace is introduced. Once the desired correction is achieved, the final cast is removed, and the CTEV brace is fitted. Initially, the CTEV brace is worn full-time, typically for around 23 hours a day. This continuous wear helps maintain the corrected position of the foot and prevents relapse. The child may only remove the CTEV brace for bathing and during brace adjustments. The CTEV brace is usually worn primarily at night during sleep. Nighttime wear helps prevent relapse while allowing the child greater freedom of movement during the day. The duration of nighttime wear varies but may continue until the child reaches a certain age or developmental milestone.
