The NEURO TRONIC system knee joint is one of the most innovative
joints for orthoses. It is electromechanically locked. The goal is that
patients achieve a natural gait pattern and any false postures are
prevented. The Auto mode of the system knee joint can be activated by
two different sensor technologies, e-Motion and p-Motion.
At e-Motion, the joint is controlled by motion sensors integrated in the
controller of the orthosis. We recommend e-Motion for patients with a
harmonious gait pattern.
At p-Motion, a pressure sensor is placed under the foot piece of the
orthosis. A slight extension moment during heel off (terminal stance)
unlocks the system knee joint. We recommend p-Motion for patients
with an atactic gait pattern.
The NEURO TRONIC system knee joint is suited for indications inducing
knee instabilities caused by neurological disorders, e.g. poliomyelitis,
apoplexy or multiple sclerosis. For the orthosis configuration, we
recommend to use the orthosis configurator.
The following joint functions can be set by using the remote control:
Auto mode - automatic
The joint is electromechanically locked or unlocked.
e-Motion uses motion sensors integrated in the controller
p-Motion uses a pressure sensor placed under the foot piece
Free mode - permanently free moving
The joint is electromagnetically unlocked.
Lock mode - permanently locked
The joint is mechanically locked by spring force.
